Choreographer Jani Master Booked for Alleged Sexual Assault of 21-Year-Old Woman
Jani Master, a well-known figure in the Telugu and Tamil film industries, faces charges of sexual assault after a woman filed a complaint detailing months of harassment.
Famous choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman who is also a choreographer. The Raidurgam police in Hyderabad registered a zero FIR based on the complaint, which has since been transferred to Narsingi police for further investigation, as the woman is a resident of that area.
The woman claims that Jani Master had been harassing her for several months during outdoor shoots in cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. According to her complaint, he also assaulted her multiple times at her residence in Narsingi.
A senior police officer confirmed that Jani Master has been booked under Section 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code (rape), as well as for criminal intimidation (506) and voluntarily causing hurt (323). The case is now being investigated by the Narsingi police.
This is not the first time Jani Master has faced legal troubles. Earlier this year, in June, dancer Satish filed a complaint accusing him of preventing him from securing work in film shoots. Additionally, in 2019, Jani Master was sentenced to six months by a court in Medchal, Hyderabad, for his involvement in a 2015 altercation at a college.
Further developments in the case are awaited as the police continue their investigation into the accusations.
