The Cockroach Janata Party alleged that its Instagram and X accounts were hacked amid growing online campaigns and political discussions surrounding the organisation.

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), an activist-led online political organisation, has claimed that several of its social media accounts were hacked or taken down, creating a major stir among supporters. The party said its official Instagram page became inaccessible on Saturday morning, while founder Abhijeet Deepke’s personal Instagram account and backup accounts were also reportedly affected.

According to posts shared by the organisation, Deepke’s X account displayed a “withheld” message for some users, further fuelling concerns among followers. The party stated that it had suddenly lost access to multiple digital platforms at once.

Abhijeet Deepke, who is originally from Maharashtra and currently studying in Boston, USA, has gained massive attention online in recent weeks through videos and campaigns targeting government policies. The party claimed its Instagram following had crossed 2 crore 17 lakh followers, while its X account had around 1 lakh 93 thousand followers.

In a social media statement, Deepke wrote: “Crackdown on Cockroach Janata Party. Instagram page hacked. My personal Instagram hacked. Twitter account withheld. Backup account also taken down.”

The development comes shortly after Deepke reportedly launched an online petition demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak controversy. According to him, more than 4 lakh 86 thousand people had signed the petition by Friday night.

Deepke had also claimed earlier that he received death threats on WhatsApp and had shared screenshots online. Meanwhile, his growing popularity has reportedly left his family worried.

Speaking to a news channel, Deepke’s father Bhagwan Deepke said the family has been under stress due to the current atmosphere around politics and online activism. “It is natural to feel scared seeing the present environment. I have not been able to sleep for the last two nights worrying about what might happen to him,” he reportedly said.

His mother Anita Deepke also expressed concern and said she preferred her son to stay away from politics and focus on his career. She mentioned that he had previously worked with AAP and the family had advised him to avoid political involvement.

The Cockroach Janata Party later clarified that it had not called for any violent or illegal agitation. The organisation appealed to supporters to remain calm and avoid any actions that could escalate tensions.

While efforts are reportedly being made to restore access and seek clarification from social media platforms, the incident has triggered debate online over digital censorship, cyber security and political expression on social media platforms.
