After grabbing eyeballs on OTT platforms, the ever-popular comedian, poet, actor, writer and producer, Zakir Khan, makes his television debut as a host with Sony Entertainment Television’s Aapka Apna Zakir.
The show’s promo dropped on Tuesday night, August 6, and would take the slot earlier occupied by The Kapil Sharma Show.
With the promo released, fans seem to be skeptical about Zakir Khan trying to fill Kapil Sharma’s shoes.
As this year, the comedian-actor shifted from TV to OTT platform Netflix with The Great Indian Kapil Show. Naturally, the slot for his TV show was empty.
Comedian Zakir Khan’s show is all set to premier this Saturday, August 10 at 9:30 pm on Sony TV.
As the show airs in the same time slot as The Kapil Sharma Show, many fans have begun comparing the two shows already.
In the promo, Zakir Khan is seen hosting various celebrities gracing the couch. The show’s opening episodes will have Karan Johar, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rajkummar Rao chatting with Zakir.
The promo looks fun and the set-up does remind us of Kapil Sharma’s show. However, Zakir brings his own humour, touch, and simplicity, as seen in the promo.
The show will also feature TV and OTT personalities like Shweta Tiwari, Paresh Ganattra, Rithvik Dhanjani, and Gopal Dutt.
Each episode will feature Zakir’s signature storytelling style across segments like celebrity interviews, audience interaction, and stand-up with his unique take on life’s ups and downs, making even the mundane seem hilariously significant as he offers advice and empathy in equal measure.
