An entrance exam was conducted for the research scholarships of Sarthi, Barthi and Mahajyoti. It has been revealed that a copy of the SET, 2019 question paper was used. Students expressed their displeasure due to this type of copy paste.

The question paper of the qualifying examination held on Sunday in the state for obtaining Research Fellowship (PhD Fellowship) of Sarthi, Barthi, Mahajyoti institutes was found to be a ‘copy’ of the ‘set’ exam question paper in 2019.

Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH-SET) Department of Savitribai Phule Pune University was responsible for preparing this question paper. However, the students expressed strong displeasure over the ‘copy-paste’ type.

The examination was organized on Sunday under the divisions of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur and Nagpur along with Pune. A total of 3,473 Ph.D. students appeared for this exam, including 1,329 from ‘Sarathi’, 761 from ‘Barti’ and 1,383 from ‘Mahajyoti’.

However, as soon as the question paper came into hand, it was found to be exactly like the question paper of ‘SET-2019’. The sequence of questions was also very similar.

There is a demand that instead of spending money on exams, the government should give ‘fellowship’ to the registered students. The question paper of the qualifying examination for the Research Scholarship of Sarathi, Barti, Mahajyoti was printed in the same way as the question paper of the ‘SET’ examination.

A fact-finding committee has been constituted to investigate this type of matter. After an inquiry of the kind conducted by this committee, proper information will be available. – Dr. Vijay Khare, Member-Secretary, Set Department
