Couple kills daughter, then commits suicide in Karnataka resort

In the Kodagu district of Karnataka, a family of three was discovered dead on Saturday morning at a resort in Kaggodlu village, which is close to Madikeri. It is said that the couple killed their 11-year-old daughter and then committed suicide.

As per further information, citing a suicide note, police stated that their extreme action was motivated by financial crisis. The pair operated a business in the vicinity of Kollam.

The family drove up to the resort on Friday night, checked into their SUV, and left around six o’clock in the evening. The family rested for a while before going for a stroll around the resort. The family was apparently in a good mood when they arrived, according to Anand, the resort manager.

The family visited a nearby store while out for a stroll and then came back for dinner. Although the husband had informed the resort staff that they would check out on Saturday at 10 am, the staff went to check on them the day they failed to do so.

When a staff member knocked on the door at 10 a.m., the checkout time, no one answered. Thirty minutes later, the staff team attempted knocking again.

This time, they became suspicious when they saw the family’s slippers lying outside the cottage. According to a police official, they noticed the couple hanging when they peered through the window.

The resort promptly notified the Madikeri Rural police station, and police officers showed up at the location. The deceased’s bodies have been sent for a postmortem examination, and the incident has been reported to the deceased’s family.

The police are investigating the matter further.
