Covid 19 : Health minister Tanaji Sawant asks to pay special attention to high risk ten districts

Pune: A special focus will be given to ten districts, including Mumbai, Pune, and Thane, which are highly vulnerable to COVID-19, according to information provided by the state Health Minister, Dr. Tanaji Sawant, during a meeting of the COVID-19 Task Force held on April 22.

Dr. Sawant spoke during the meeting of the special task force, which was organised to devise strategies to combat the rising number of COVID-19 infections. The meeting was held with the help of the remote visual system of the revamped task force.

Dr. Sawant communicated with the members from the state health service headquarters in Pune, where Dr. Nitin Ambadkar, Additional Director, and Dr. Raghunath Bhoye, Secretary of the Task Force, were present. Dr. Subhash Salunkhe, the chairman of the task force, Lieutenant General Madhuri Kanitkar, Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar, Dr. Rajesh Karyakarte, Dr. Harshad Thakur, and the Deputy Director of Public Health, who participated remotely, were among the task force’s members.

Dr. Sawant said that the number of COVID-19 tests should be increased. He also urged the state health department to rectify any errors detected during mock drills that had been conducted recently. He appealed to the public to wear masks and follow COVID-19 guidelines. The state government is attempting to ensure that the ten districts identified as being at high risk are adequately prepared to fight the virus.
