Cyber Fraud Network and Telecom Security App to Combat Fraud: 275,000 Phone Numbers Disconnected says Jyotiraditya Scindia
Union Minister highlights robust government measures to combat cyber fraud and secure the telecom sector.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced significant progress in combating cyber fraud and enhancing telecom security, revealing that the government’s initiatives have prevented fraud worth ₹4,000 crore and led to the disconnection of 275,000 phone numbers linked to fraudulent activities.
Scindia lauded the Home Ministry’s efforts in establishing a cyber fraud network, which has safeguarded nearly ₹10 lakh in public money. Additionally, the telecom sector introduced an app to address fraud, resulting in the blacklisting of 10,000 headers and ensuring greater security for users.
Strategic Measures for User Protection
“We have taken many steps to stop harmful entities. The Home Ministry’s cyber fraud network has been pivotal, preventing fraud worth ₹4,000 crore. Moreover, through the telecom sector’s app, 2.75 lakh mobile phones were disconnected,” said Scindia.
The Union Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting citizens from digital and telecom threats, showcasing a proactive approach to tackling cyber fraud and ensuring a secure telecom environment.
