Delta Airlines Plane Crash-Lands in Toronto; 18 Injured, One Critically

Toronto, Canada – A Delta Airlines flight crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, flipping upside down upon impact. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, confirming that all passengers and crew were safely evacuated.
According to airport officials, Flight 4819 from Minneapolis-St. Paul came to rest on its roof after the crash. Eighteen people sustained injuries, including one passenger in critical but non-life-threatening condition. Among the injured was a child, while seven others suffered moderate to mild injuries.
A viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) captured the chaotic aftermath, showing the overturned aircraft with smoke rising from the fuselage. A passenger narrating the footage said, “We’re in Toronto, we just landed, our plane crashed. It’s upside down… most people are going to be okay, we’re all getting off.”
Emergency Response and Official Statements
Toronto Pearson International Airport confirmed the incident in a public statement, assuring that emergency teams were actively responding. “All passengers and crew are accounted for,” the statement read. Officials added that several passengers were transported to local hospitals, with Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) staff assisting affected families.
Delta Airlines acknowledged the incident, stating: “We are aware of reports of Endeavor Flight 4819 operating from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Toronto-Pearson International Airport as involved in an incident.”
Ontario Premier Doug Ford also addressed the situation, expressing relief that there were no fatalities. “Provincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any help that’s needed,” he said.
