The health department of PMC has urged everyone to maintain cleanliness in and around their houses.

The health officials in the city are on high alert as the dengue cases are rising. As per the data from Pune Municipal Corporation, the number of dengue cases between January and July this year in Aundh and Baner is 30 while 31 cases have been reported in Nagar road-Wadgaon Sheri.

The increase in the cases is attributed to stagnated water, after the heavy rains, which have become the breeding ground for mosquitos.

The health department of PMC has urged everyone to maintain cleanliness in and around their houses.

A team of officials from the health department have started visiting housing societies to check if premises is maintained well.

“Our team has started issuing notices to establishments which are not clean. If they continue to remain the same, fines will be imposed. It is the duty of all to keep dengue mosquitos at bay,” said Dr Sanjay Wavre, assistant health officer, of Pune Municipal Corporation.

As of now, PMC health department has issued notices to 1,278 establishments in the city.
