DGCA official visits Pune Airport to check on Fog Preparedness
An official from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) visited Pune Airport to review preparedness in view of the impact of fog-related disruptions being experienced across the airports in northern part of the country. The visit was undertaken as a proactive oversight measure to assess readiness and coordination at the airport.
During the visit, the DGCA officials inspected all key passenger touch points, including terminal facilities, information dissemination mechanisms, airline counters, and ground handling operations, to evaluate preparedness for potential fog-induced disruptions.
A coordination meeting was also held with representatives of Pune Airport, CISF, all operating airlines and Ground Handling Agencies (GHAs) at Pune Airport. The DGCA officials emphasized the need for robust passenger communication protocols and directed airlines to ensure that timely and accurate information regarding impacted flights is conveyed to passengers well in advance, with the objective of minimizing inconvenience.

In line with regulatory expectations, Pune Airport has conducted a comprehensive fog preparedness mock drill on 13.12.2025 to validate operational readiness, inter-agency coordination, and response effectiveness under simulated low-visibility conditions.
Pune Airport remains committed to maintaining high standards of safety, operational preparedness, and passenger facilitation, and continues to work in close coordination with DGCA, CISF, airlines, GHAs and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations during adverse weather conditions.
