Netflix and JioHotstar’s latest announcements around ‘Dhurandhar Raw And Undekha’ left fans confused, with many believing the sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ had arrived early on OTT.

Movie lovers waiting for Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated action thriller ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ were left puzzled after streaming platforms Netflix and JioHotstar announced the release of ‘Dhurandhar Raw And Undekha’ in India.

The confusion began after Netflix India shared a poster announcing that the “Raw and Undekha” version of the original Dhurandhar would begin streaming from May 22 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Since audiences have been eagerly waiting for the OTT release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, many social media users mistakenly assumed the sequel had arrived ahead of schedule.

Within minutes, comment sections across platforms were flooded with confused reactions. Several viewers questioned whether Netflix had acquired the rights to the sequel as well, while others wondered why two streaming platforms were making similar announcements around the same time.

One user commented, “Then what about JioHotstar coming on June 4? I’m really confused.”

Another wrote, “What exactly is this Raw and Undekha version? Isn’t the first part already on Netflix?”

Some fans reacted humorously, with one user joking, “JioHotstar ki fielding set kar di.”

As speculation continued online, users who understood the announcement clarified that the new release was only the alternate “Raw and Undekha” cut of the first film and not the sequel itself. “Relax guys, it’s Part 1,” several users responded in the comments section.

Soon after Netflix’s announcement, JioHotstar also unveiled its own poster for Dhurandhar Raw And Undekha, further intensifying the confusion among fans. The platform announced that the special version would stream from May 22 with additional unseen content and a grittier presentation.

Meanwhile, the much-awaited sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is still scheduled for its digital premiere in early June. The film’s “Raw and Undekha” edition is expected to premiere digitally on June 4 at 7 pm before becoming available for regular streaming from June 5 on JioHotstar.

The sequel has already generated massive buzz after its theatrical success and overseas streaming response. While international viewers earlier got access to the uncensored version on Netflix, Indian audiences had criticised the delay in receiving the same edition domestically.

That criticism resurfaced once again after the latest announcements, with many users questioning why Indian viewers often receive edited versions first while uncut versions become available abroad earlier.

Despite the confusion, the viral chatter has significantly boosted excitement around the franchise, with fans now eagerly counting down to both the release of Dhurandhar Raw And Undekha and the OTT arrival of Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
