Shocking scenes unfolded at a medical college near Bengaluru after a professor allegedly proposed to a student during class, triggering outrage among students and leading to a physical confrontation. The incident reportedly took place during regular lecture hours, when the professor openly expressed his feelings in front of the entire class. His unexpected declaration left the student visibly upset, and she immediately objected, which soon turned into a tense exchange between the two.
A video of the incident that has since gone viral captures parts of the confrontation. In the footage, the professor is heard saying to the student, “You said ‘I love you’ to me,” a claim she strongly denied, replying, “I have not said it.”
The clip further shows the professor, wearing a microphone, addressing the class and saying, “I would like to propose to one of the most important girls in our batch,” before naming the student. Taken aback, she questioned him on the spot, and the situation quickly escalated into a public argument.
At one point in the video, the student is heard saying, “If you want to speak, you can go to the principal. The entire batch will come with you”.
The argument continued to escalate, with the professor insisting, “How come you proposed to me?” The student immediately pushed back, asking, “When did I propose?” He repeated his claim, saying, “Didn’t you say ‘I love you’?” to which she responded sharply, “Excuse me? When did I propose?” As the exchange grew more tense, the professor added, “There is CCTV,” and the student challenged him, saying, “Show me that.”

As tensions rose, the professor attempted to leave the classroom, saying, “I will talk to you tomorrow.”
The student responded firmly, “I don’t want to talk.”
Shortly after, the situation spiraled further when the student, joined by her classmates, allegedly confronted the professor on the college premises. The group was seen assaulting him, including hitting him with slippers.
Authorities have since stepped in. Police officials confirmed they visited the campus and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine what led to the escalation.
