Digital mapping of crowded temples should be done : Shinde

Mumbai, May 23 : Digital mapping of the temples and shrines in Maharashtra where devotees gather in large numbers should be done, so that it is possible to provide more and better facilities to the devotees, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Tuesday.


Shinde was speaking in the State Summit Committee meeting chaired by him at the ministry cabinet hall. The Pandharpur Temple Development Plan worth Rs 73.80 crore and the Akkalkot Pilgrimage Development Plan worth Rs 368 crore were approved.


Shinde directed that all the roads in Pandharpur city should be repaired in the background of Ashadhi Yatra. No potholes should be visible on the road. For that the Urban Development Department should immediately distribute a fund of Rs 10 crore to the Pandharpur Municipal Council for the repair of roads.


Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil were present on the occasion.
