Pune: A shocking incident unfolded onboard an Air India flight, where a male passenger, identified as Ram Singh, created a disturbance by defecating, urinating, and spitting in row 9 of the aircraft. The disruptive act took place on flight AIC 866 on June 24, prompting the cabin crew to issue a verbal warning and isolate the passenger from others. The pilot-in-command was informed, and a request for security assistance upon arrival was immediately sent to the company.

Reports indicate that the passenger, currently employed as a cook in Africa, was registered as the offender in an FIR filed under sections 294 (obscene acts) and 510 (misconduct in public by a drunken person) of the Indian Penal Code.

The misconduct not only caused discomfort and distress among fellow passengers but also led to agitation onboard the flight. Upon landing, the head of Air India security accompanied the accused to the local police station, where he was granted bail after being produced before a court.

The incident highlights the need for increased vigilance and stricter measures to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during air travel. Authorities are actively investigating the matter, aiming to gather all necessary information and conduct a thorough inquiry into the disruptive behaviour exhibited by the accused.
