Pune News : Gas Leakage from a private company in Vadgaon Phata creates panic

Pune: A major gas leakage was reported from Om Sai company in Vadgaon Phata on Monday night. However, no casualty has been reported so far.

As per the information, the leakage occurred around 10:30 pm on Monday due to a power failure at the company. As a result,  the cooling system stopped working resulting in increased pressure and temperature, causing the glass container to break which led to release og gas due to leak in the pipe.

VadgaonTraffic Department, along with the MIDC Fire Brigade and the Fire Department of Talegaon Dabhade Municipal Council immediately reached the spot. As per information from fire brigade officials, a significant amount of smoke was seen in the locality. The incident led to chaos among the workers. Considering the leakage, workers and supervisor fled from the spot. However, officials from the MIDC Fire Department obtained information regarding materials, furnace, container, and pressure gauge and controlled the situation.

Meanwhile, the gas spread in nearby areas and many people faced difficulty in breathing. As a result, the traffic department diverted the vehicle movement on the National Highway for more than two hours, said Dipak Dorugade, MIDC Fire Officer.
