Easy Tips on how to get your E-pass for inter district travel

The surge in Covid19 cases led to restrictions on movements and hence the government made E-pass mandatory for inter district and inter state travel.

Pune City Police started issuing digital passes for those who want to travel inter state and inter district, for which the citizens can log on to the website https://covid19.mhpolice.in/ to get their pass.

Out of 1,11,243 applications, only 28698 received e-pass till May 11, 2021 afternoon. 

Digital passes are issued to people who request to attend the funerals, weddings, medical emergencies, air travels, etc. Digital passes are issued by a team of people consisting of 1 police inspector, 2 assistant police inspector, 2 police sub inspectors and 20 police personnel.

In his tweet, Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta had recently shared the top 5 mistakes people made while applying for E-pass. 
Gupta also pointed out some tips for getting the e-pass.

Tips on how to get digital pass by Pune Police :

1. Passes are issued by Pune Police to those who want to visit for reasons such as death / serious illness of a close one such as (father / mother / brother / sister / first cousin / sister in law / brother in law), marriage, hospital. Necessary documents are a must while applying for e-pass.

2. One must mention the relation with the deceased person. Also attach documents such as death certificate, cemetery certificate, police patil certificate, village sarpanch / documents such as certificate from the doctor attached to a hospital. In case of a medical reason, it is mandatory to submit a hospital appointment letter along with the hospital documents for treatment.

3. E-pass shall be issued to bride and groom, their parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles for the wedding related ceremony. Attaching a wedding card is a must.

4. E – pass shall be issued to the citizens travelling by air.

Mistakes Citizens make while applying for Digital Pass :

1. Identity cards of the person travelling and his co passengers are not attached

2. Covid19 negative test report / medical fitness certificate is not submitted while applying for digital pass. (tests to be done before 72 hours of travel)

3. Documents related to travel are not submitted

4. All documents needed for applying for the E-pass (digital pass) are not submitted in PDF. Similarly, photographs are also not attached in the prescribed format.

5. Incomplete residential address / reason for travel is not mentioned correctly in the application.

6. Citizens travelling by air do not attach their travel ticket / boarding pass.

Amitabh Gupta in his tweet also said that the pending applications can be reviewed by submitting the token numbers of the applications on the twitter handle of Pune City Police, which will be reviewed and accepted or rejected followed by scrutiny.
