Elderly Woman Dies On The Spot on Katraj-Kondhwa Road; Truck Driver Arrested

Another horrifying accident took place on Katraj-Kondhwa road on 13th August (Sunday) when an elderly woman was run over by a speeding truck near Maulinagar Chowk. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vijay Kumbhar, Police Inspector, Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, said “On 13th August, at around 10pm, an elderly woman, identified as Prabhavati Pandurang Anbhule (Age 70), was crossing the road near a marble shop at Maulinagar Chowk on Katraj-Kondhwa road. While she was mid way on the road, a huge truck ran over the woman. The elderly woman died on the spot.”
As per information from Kumbhar, the truck driver tried to run away however, the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police team, caught the driverr. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) & further investigation is going on about this.
Just a few days ago a truck rammed into multiple vehilces on the road leading one death and five injured. Over the course of 4 to 4.5 years, around 58 accident cases have taken place in which 26 people lost their lives.Â
