Election Commission allots Shiv Sena name, bow and arrow symbol to Shinde faction
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday, February 17 said that the party name, ‘Shiv Sena’ and the party symbol, bow and arrow will be retained by the Eknath Shinde faction. The Election Commission of India also that the Eknath Shinde faction was supported by Member of Legislator Assembly’s with 76 per cent of the party’s winning votes in the Maharashtra Assembly polls held in 2019. Whereas, the support for Uddhav Thackeray tallied to just 23.5 percent.
