Pune News: Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar and Green Life Foundation take initiative to make trees free from nails
In an effort to promote a greener and cleaner environment, the residents of Kalyani Nagar have taken the initiative to remove nails from trees in the neighborhood area. The drive will be held on Sunday, 19 February, from 7.30 AM to 9.30. Many trees in the area have been used as a support structure for advertisements, and signboards, leading to the trees being damaged and their growth being hindered due to the nails being left behind.
The residents have formed Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN) along with Green Life Foundation to combat this issue. They will participate in a two-hour tree nail removal mission on Sunday morning. The initiative aims to preserve the environment and encourage others to take action towards a greener future.
The residents have also urged businesses and advertisers to refrain from using trees as a support structure and to use alternatives like poles and stands. The initiative has received widespread support from the community and is a step towards a cleaner, greener future for Kalyani Nagar.
Speaking about the initiative, a spokesperson Aruna Suratkal for TSKN, said, “We are proud to be taking this initiative to remove nails from trees in our neighborhood. It’s important to recognize that even small action can make a big difference in protecting our environment. We hope our efforts will inspire others to take similar actions and help conserve nature.”
