Electric PMPML Bus Catches Fire Near 93 Avenue Mall on Pune-Solapur Road, No Casualties Reported
Pune: A PMPML city bus, with registration number MH 12 SF 26, en route to Bhekrai Nagar, caught fire near 93 Avenue Mall, Fatima Nagar, on Pune-Solapur Road at around 8 PM yesterday. The bus, reportedly an electric vehicle, suffered significant damage.Â
The fire brigade was swiftly called to the scene, managing to control and extinguish the fire before it could spread further. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries among the passengers, as confirmed by Senior Police Inspector from Wanwadi Police Station.
The incident led to a brief disruption in traffic along the busy route, but thanks to the quick response from both the fire department and the local police, normalcy was restored within a short time.Â
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities are working to assess the extent of the damage. Officials have urged PMPML and other public transport operators to conduct regular maintenance checks on electric buses to prevent such incidents in the future.
