Emirates Airlines has garnered praise for its exemplary customer service after a 15-year-old girl missed her connecting flight in Dubai.

Manish Kalghatgi, a father from Puducherry, expressed his appreciation for Emirates’ handling of the situation involving his daughter’s solo international travel.

Given how the entire @emirates operations at DXB were thrown off gear just a few days back, this was excellent recovery and back to business-as-usual as quick as possible.

Kalghatgi’s daughter was travelling alone from Casablanca to Chennai, with a layover in Dubai. Due to flight disruptions caused by severe weather in Dubai, she missed her connecting flight scheduled for 2 am. However, Emirates staff went above and beyond to assist her.

Upon arrival in Dubai, Kalghatgi’s daughter was met by Emirates personnel, briefed about the changes to her itinerary, and escorted to a transit hotel room for rest and recuperation before her next flight. Kalghatgi himself received a reassuring call from Emirates at 4 am, providing updates on the situation and the steps taken to ensure his daughter’s well-being.

“This is what customer focus and service excellence is all about. Well done, Emirates,” Kalghatgi said

Despite the initial concerns about the flight disruptions caused by the storm and flooding in Dubai, Kalghatgi commended Emirates for their effective communication and swift action, stating that he was never worried about his daughter’s safety after receiving the call.

The incident occurred amidst disruptions at Dubai International Airport, which temporarily suspended operations due to unprecedented rainfall, resulting in flooded runways and adverse weather conditions. Emirates responded by suspending travel procedures for departing passengers from Dubai until the adverse conditions improved.
