The law enforcement authorities in Delhi responded to a report of a loud sound near the Israel Embassy on Tuesday evening. Security and forensics teams from the Delhi Police are currently on-site investigating the incident.

Israeli Embassy spokesperson Guy Nir confirmed to Reuters that a ‘blast’ occurred near the embassy, but all staff remained unharmed. The blast happened around 5:20 pm, prompting cooperation between Israeli and Indian authorities to investigate the cause. Deputy Ambassador Ohad Nakash Kaynar assured that all diplomats and workers are safe, with security teams collaborating with local Delhi security for further investigation.

An eyewitness reported hearing a loud sound around 5 pm and observed smoke near a tree. The Delhi Fire Services received the information first, but nothing has been found at the location so far. The area around the Israel Embassy has been cordoned off, and security personnel are deployed. The Delhi Police’s Special Cell is conducting a thorough search, but no explosives have been found as of now.

This incident follows a low-intensity blast outside the Embassy in 2021, with the National Investigation Agency investigating the case.
