The Covid19 pandemic has put a lot of stress on working professionals as well as children. Online webinars, meetings, training has led to rise in eye problems. 
There are various ways to keep your eyes safe and protected from radiation which hampers eye sight. Many professionals often complain about eye pain, headache, irritation in eyes, dryness in eyes which have become rampant due to excessive use of mobile devices, laptops, desktops and prolonged working hours. 
Eyes are one of the most important part to be taken care of.


1. TO PREVENT INFECTION

  • Don’t touch the eyes very frequently and avoid rubbing them.
  • Wear safety goggles whenever outside and in contact with any person.
  • Avoid contact lenses.
  • Keep spectacles clean.
  • Face shield and hand sanitizer are mandatory.
  • Conjuctivities can be a rare symptom of Corona.

2. Digital Strain

Lockdown has pushed us to stay home and thanks to social media keeping us busy but its excessive use is harmful for eyes resulting in Eye strain, Psychosocial issues, Health issues and so on.

  • Prevent Eye Strain
  • Do not sit continuously on mobile, laptop.
  • Take a break after every 2 hours.
  • Wash your eyes.
  • Look at distant objects to relax.
  • Blinking while working will keep eyes moist.
  • Eye exercises to relax muscles of the eyes.
  • Lubricating drops as suggested by the Ophthalmogist. We all love social media and the smart use of smart social media can be helpful in discovering new dimensions.

Some suggestions are-

1. Cherish hobbies- learn online cooking, Pottery, Drawing and Painting, Arts.

2. Learn – Dance, Yoga, Karate, Pilates for physical needs of the body.

3. Listen to Music – it will activate the right side of the brain.

4. Meditation classes and talks to calm your mind.
