Faceless System Launched For Reserving Fancy Vehicle Registration Numbers In Pune
Pune, November 30, 2024: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has introduced a faceless system for reserving attractive or preferred vehicle registration numbers for new vehicles. The service, which began on November 25, 2024, enables citizens to reserve registration numbers entirely online without needing to visit the RTO office. Â
Applicants can use their Aadhaar-linked mobile number and an OTP to access the portal [https://fancy.parivahan.gov.in](https://fancy.parivahan.gov.in). This move simplifies the process and enhances convenience for vehicle owners.
Key Features of the System:Â Â
1. Online Process: Applicants can register, select their preferred number, and pay the applicable fees through the SBI e-pay gateway.
2. Verification: Users must verify their email ID or mobile number via OTP for account creation.
3. Receipt Submission: After booking, the e-receipt must be submitted to the concerned dealer for further processing.
Existing Offline Auctions for Premium Numbers:Â Â
For attractive registration numbers sought by multiple applicants, the traditional offline auction system will continue before the introduction of a new series. In such cases:
– Applicants must submit advance applications for preferred numbers.
– If multiple applications are received, an auction will be conducted at the RTO.
– The number will be awarded to the highest bidder, who must deposit the additional bid amount at the office.
After completing the auction process, remaining numbers will be made available for online reservation through the faceless system.
The initiative aims to simplify the process, reduce physical visits to the RTO, and ensure greater transparency. Citizens are encouraged to use this facility for seamless vehicle registration.
