On March 25th, at around 10:45 am, a tragic incident occurred on the Mumbai lane of the Pune Mumbai Expressway. A milk tanker with the registration number GJ 18 BV 5559 overturned onto a car with the registration number MH 14 VQ 1072. The car was then crushed beneath a container with the registration number MH 46 BB 9309 which also overturned. Sadly, the tanker driver lost his life instantly. However, the occupants of the car, Sanket Atul Agarwal (29) and Pratik Atul Agarwal (34) from Kharadi, Pune, survived the accident. Ritesh Changdev Jagdale (32), the driver of the overturned container from Mann, Satara, sustained minor injuries.

Prompt response from Highway Traffic Police, Borghat officials, IRB patrol team, Dedoot system, Delta Force, RTO officials, Maharashtra Security Force personnel, Mrityunjay Devdoot, and members of social organizations helped in aiding the victims. The deceased tanker driver’s body was taken to Khopoli Municipal Hospital, while Senior Police Inspector Shital Raut from Khopoli Police Station managed the scene.

Traffic disruption, caused by the accident, was cleared after the removal of the vehicles involved, restoring normalcy on the expressway. Inspector Raut emphasized the collaborative effort in responding to such incidents, stating, “We must work together swiftly to mitigate the impact of such tragedies and ensure the safety of all commuters.”
