Fire breaks out at women’s diagnostic ward in Sassoon hospital

Pune: A fire broke out at Women’s Diagnostic Ward-01 at Sassoon Hospital due to a short circuit in the electrical board. The incident was reported on today afternoon, and hospital staff quickly used fire fighting equipment to control the blaze.

Security guards at the hospital also used fire extinguishers to try and put out the fire.
The fire department was informed at 12:10 pm and immediately rushed to the scene to assess the situation. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the few women who were present in the hospital at the time of the incident were unharmed.

According to fire brigade department, “Security guards at the hospital were able to quickly bring the fire under control after the short circuit. We went to the spot to ensure that everything was fine. We’re thankful that there were no injuries or casualties in this incident.”

It’s not yet clear what caused the short circuit, but hospital staff and authorities will be investigating the incident to determine the cause and take necessary steps to prevent any such incidents in the future.
