New Delhi: Zomato has increased its platform fee by ₹2.40, taking the total charge to ₹14.90 per order (excluding GST), as seen on its app on Friday. Earlier, the fee stood at ₹12.50.

The hike has been implemented across all cities where the company operates, marking its first increase since September last year.

Meanwhile, rival Swiggy currently charges a platform fee of ₹14.99 per order, inclusive of GST. Another player, magicpin, has kept its fee unchanged at ₹14.20 and has no immediate plans to raise it.

According to industry insights, rising fuel prices—driven by ongoing tensions in West Asia—are pushing up delivery costs, leading platforms to adjust their fees.

With this revision, ordering food online is expected to become slightly more expensive for users across the country.
