Forest dept razes illegal food stalls from Sinhagad fort

The Pune Forest department demolished unauthorised stalls on Sinhagad fort at 6 am on November 18th. The structure was pulled down in the early morning demolition drive. Food stalls on the fort destroy the beauty of the historical monument, said Rahul Patil, deputy conservator of forest, Pune division.

The stall owners had already been issued notices to be remove the structures. While some of them had removed their stall, others had not. The remaining temporary structures were removed by the forest department officials and the space had been earmarked for parking vehicles, which will bring down the traffic congestion.

The stall holders can be relocated to the fort under the Nature Tourism Scheme of the Forest department.
The drive was carried out by N R Pravin, chief conservator, Pune, Rahul Patil, deputy conservator, Pune forest, Deepak Pawar, assistant conservator (WKE), Range Forest Officers Pradeep Sankpal, Mukesh Sanas, Sushil Mantawar, Santosh Chavan, Hanumant Jadhav, Ajit Suryavanshi and other forest department officials.
