Authorities resort to DNA testing to confirm identities as the families await closure.

In a tragic multi-vehicle collision in Anna, Texas, four Indian nationals lost their lives when a speeding truck rear-ended their SUV, causing it to burst into flames. The fiery impact left all four occupants trapped inside, resulting in their bodies being burned beyond recognition. The victims, who had connected through a carpooling app for their journey to Bentonville, Arkansas, were identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Dharshini Vasudevan.

The accident occurred on Friday when the speeding truck crashed into the SUV, triggering the deadly fire. Authorities are relying on DNA fingerprinting to verify the identities of the victims, using teeth and bone remnants. The samples will be matched with their parents’ DNA to confirm their identities.

The deceased hailed from different regions in India, including Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu, and were either visiting family or returning home after trips. Dharshini Vasudevan had recently completed her Master’s degree at the University of Texas and was on her way to visit her uncle. Aryan Orampati and Farooq Shaik were returning from a visit to Orampati’s cousin in Dallas, while Lokesh Palacharla was heading to meet his wife in Bentonville.

The identification process has been delayed due to the ongoing long weekend in the US, prolonging the distress of the victims’ families.
