Friend Stabs Companion Over Rs. 20 Near Lucky Country Bar in Pimpri‑Chinchwad; Accused Arrested From Latur
A minor dispute over a loan of just ₹20 turned into a violent stabbing outside the Lucky Country Bar in Pimpri Goan, leaving residents in shock and the victim hospitalized in critical condition. The accused, who fled the scene, was later arrested in Latur. According to police, 38‑year‑old Ravindra Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad, a resident of Pimpri Gaon, and Satyajit Kamble alias Sonya, also from Pimpri, were friends and acquaintances who often spent time together. On Tuesday, 24 February, around 8:30 PM, the two had an argument outside the bar when Satyajit asked Ravindra for ₹20. When Ravindra refused, the conversation quickly escalated into a heated dispute.
In a sudden outburst, Satyajit pulled a metal knife from his pocket and stabbed Ravindra in the neck and throat. Eyewitnesses reported that after the attack, the assailant threatened bystanders while brandishing the knife and shouting, “I will finish all of you!” creating panic in the locality.
Ravindra was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors reported that his condition was initially critical, though police later confirmed that he is now stable. Photos of the victim’s injuries have circulated widely on local WhatsApp groups and social media, shocking the community.
Following the incident, the Pimpri Police promptly reached the scene. Satyajit had fled after the attack, prompting the police to launch a manhunt. Within a few hours, the accused was located and arrested from Latur. Satyajit has been booked under Section 109 (attempt to murder) as well as Sections 3 and 7 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act. Police continue their investigation to determine the complete circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
Residents expressed fear and disbelief, noting that two friends could descend into violence over such a trivial amount.
