Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, has announced a significant development for the expansion of the metro line in Pune. As part of the expansion plans, the metro stations in Hinjewadi IT Park will be connected by a Sky Bus, providing citizens with an efficient alternative to using cars.

Fadnavis was speaking during the bhoomi poojan ceremony of various development works in the Pune Cantonment Assembly.

Fadnavis revealed that all necessary approvals for this initiative have been secured, and the groundbreaking ceremony, Bhumi Poojan, will be conducted soon, with the Chief Minister and Guardian Minister in attendance. The integration of Sky Bus services aims to reduce reliance on cars, easing traffic congestion and minimizing pollution, offering a more sustainable transportation option for commuters.

Fadnavis also shared updates on the initiation of the Pune Ring road project, anticipating an investment of one lakh crore that would generate substantial employment opportunities.

Additionally, he highlighted the benefits of municipal schemes within Cantonment limits and pledged efforts to address housing concerns, slums on railway seats, and securing a share from GST revenue for the Cantonment Board.

While outlining these developments, Fadnavis subtly criticized the approach taken during the previous leadership, expressing the need for a more proactive stance in addressing public issues.

Inconvenience to passengers due to closure of bus stand

MLA Kamble organized a program at the premises of the PMPML bus installation at Pool Gate to inaugurate development works in the Cantonment Assembly Constituency. So PMPML had to close this bus station. Passengers were affected as buses were stopped at other places.

Many people had to walk to catch the bus, also missing the bus wasted the time of the citizens. Citizen Shirish Reddy said, ‘Citizens have suffered a lot due to the closure of the PMPML bus stand and the program. Also, the amount of financial damage to the PMPML should be declared.
