Passengers Can Book Bus Tickets On The PMPML Mobile App Soon - Pune Pulse

Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will start cashless payment facility for bus tickets from tomorrow, October 1.

As per further information by PMPML, in Kothrud Bus Depot, the cashless ticketing facility will be launched on 1st October 2023 by the Guardian Minister of Pune District Chandrakant Patil. Passengers can pay for tickets through QR code. Payment can be made through UPI by scanning the QR code of the ticket amount in the carrier’s e-ticket machine. The cashless payment facility will not affect the old facilities which are in operation.

In the PMPML, ticketing system was started from 2015 through e-ticket machine. But the launch of digital payment facility for passengers was pending. Taking into note the increasing demand of passengers, on 03/09/2023 a meeting was held between the company providing e-ticket machine service in the PMPML and Central Bank of India and the concerned were ordered to start digital payment facility from e-ticket machines in the PMPML.

Accordingly, after fulfilling all the technical aspects about the said system, a successful pilot trial has been conducted in Baner Bus Depot from 16/09/2023 till 30/09/2023.

On 1st October 2023, at Kothrud Bus Depot at 12:00 pm, by Guardian Minister of Pune District Chandrakant Patil, cashless payment facility will be started by taking tickets in the e-ticket machine of the PMPML in the presence of PMPML Chairman and Managing Director.

UPI payments will bring the following benefits to passengers and corporation:

1. The problem of cash (sutte paise) to buy tickets will end.

2. Cash transactions from carriers will be reduced and work mobility will increase.

3. The cash transactions from the corporation will decrease and the money will be deposited in the bank directly & immediately.

4. Soon, bus tracking, travel planning and mobile ticketing facility through the corporation’s mobile app will be started by the corporation.

5. This will contribute to the concept of Digital India.

Cashless payments can be done through the following method:

1. Request QR code from carrier online.

2. Online payment by scanning the QR code.

3. Receiving your ticket generated by the carrier.
