Gorakhpur Route Interlocking Work to Disrupt Mumbai, Pune-Bound Trains—Check Dates & Trains Here
Passengers traveling from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai and Pune will face significant disruptions due to train cancellations on the Gorakhpur route. Due to blockages on this route, train services will be affected until May 5, 2025. The majority of trains, except for a few major ones like Gorakh Dham and Vaishali, will be canceled. Some trains will also be diverted, and others will be short-terminated. Between April 12 and 26, preliminary interlocking (Pre-NI) work will be carried out, followed by the actual interlocking (NI) work from April 27 to May 3.
Once the interlocking process is completed, train operations are expected to become smoother, and trains will no longer be unnecessarily halted at stations like Domingardh or Cantt. However, train cancellations will still persist, particularly affecting the Mumbai-Pune route. Only one train will continue operating on this route, while the rest will be canceled. Additionally, the Kushinagar Express will operate from Gomtinagar.
