Groom Stabbed at Amravati Wedding, Drone Camera Tracks Attacker for 2 Km in Dramatic Footage
Wedding videographer’s quick thinking provides crucial evidence as drone follows fleeing accused wearing orange hoodie, police call footage key to investigation
A wedding ceremony in Amravati, Maharashtra, turned into a crime scene on Monday evening when the groom was stabbed on stage. A drone camera deployed to film the festivities not only captured the attack but also tracked the fleeing accused and his accomplice for nearly two kilometers, providing police with crucial evidence.
The incident occurred around 9.30 pm at Sahil Lawn on Badnera Road during the wedding ceremony of 22-year-old Sujal Ram Samudra. The accused, identified as Ragho Jitendra Bakshi, allegedly approached the groom on stage and stabbed him three times with a knife, injuring him on the thigh and knee.
Drone operator’s quick response
As panic erupted among guests, the drone operator kept recording and followed the attacker’s escape route. The continuous footage captured the accused’s movements for approximately two kilometers before losing sight of him.
The video begins from the stage and shows the attacker, wearing an orange hoodie, running out of the lawn. He took a bike parked outside the venue. Another person wearing black clothing joined him on the bike. Both fled while a relative of the couple attempted to chase them. The drone camera continued tracking the two attackers throughout their escape.
Police have seized the footage, which clearly shows the accused’s face and escape route. Station House Officer Sunil Chauhan stated, “The drone operator’s alertness has been extremely helpful to us. The video will significantly aid in identifying and locating the accused.”
Dispute during DJ performance
Preliminary investigation suggests the attack stemmed from a minor dispute during a DJ performance. The groom and the accused were allegedly pushed while dancing. The argument that followed appears to have angered Bakshi, who later launched the violent assault.
In the commotion following the stabbing, the accused also allegedly attempted to attack the groom’s father, Ramji Samudra, before fleeing the venue.

Police investigation underway
A case has been registered at Badnera Police Station following swift action by SHO Chauhan. The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of SHO Sandeep Hiwale.
Officials have called the drone footage a key piece of evidence in the case. What was intended to record joyful wedding moments has instead become crucial documentation of a violent crime. The clear images of the accused’s face and his escape route are expected to help police locate and apprehend him quickly.
