Gujarat: Jain community buys 186 luxury cars together, saves ₹21 crore through bulk deal
On JITO’s initiative, members of the Jain community purchased luxury cars collectively, securing massive discounts from major auto brands.
In a remarkable display of unity and financial acumen, members of the Jain community across India have collectively purchased 186 luxury cars — saving a staggering ₹21.22 crore in the process. The initiative was led by the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO), known for promoting business collaboration among its 65,000 members nationwide.
The cars, priced between ₹60 lakh and ₹1.34 crore, were procured through coordinated deals with 15 leading automobile brands, including Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. According to JITO Vice-Chairman Himanshu Shah, the bulk purchase significantly boosted their bargaining power. “When so many people buy together, companies benefit from large sales volumes and reduced marketing costs, which translates into substantial savings for customers,” he explained.
Encouraged by the success of this collective buying model, JITO now plans to extend similar bulk-purchase arrangements to other sectors such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, jewelry, and even machinery for employment generation.
Interestingly, this collaborative buying trend isn’t limited to the Jain community. The Bharwad Yuva Sangathan of Gujarat also made headlines recently for ordering 121 JCB machines at once, saving about ₹4 crore or roughly ₹3.3 lakh per machine to help young members start self-employment ventures.
The move has not only showcased the Gujarati spirit of enterprise and unity but also highlighted how collective purchasing can turn wisdom and cooperation into powerful tools for economic advantage.
