Pune, November 13, 2024 – With the state assembly elections just around the corner, NCP leader and MP Supriya Sule recently commented on the controversy surrounding Uddhav Thackeray’s bag inspection, calling it an example of “vendetta politics.” At a campaign event in Hadapsar for candidate Prashant Jagtap, Sule spoke to the media, addressing various political issues, including the incident with Thackeray.

When asked about the bag-checking of former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray by election officials, Sule mentioned that her own vehicle was checked recently. Instead of objecting, she encouraged the officers and said she was pleased with their thoroughness. However, she expressed her dismay at the focus on Thackeray’s bag check, considering his status as a former chief minister. She stated, “Such targeting in the name of politics is unfortunate and improper.”

Regarding comments by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar urging voters to “vote wholeheartedly” in the upcoming assembly elections, Sule responded that she respects democracy’s strength. She remarked on the contributions of NCP founder Sharad Pawar in building the Baramati constituency over the past six decades. She emphasized that their progress was a collective effort, saying, “This constituency is built on the work of all contributors, not any single individual.”

In closing, Sule also commented on Ajit Pawar’s remarks about their family’s legacy. She agreed that both she and Ajit Pawar are part of a political family but asserted that it was the hard work of Sharad Pawar that built Baramati from the ground up. She expressed confidence that the people of Maharashtra and Baramati would choose a new, educated, and responsible leader with integrity to take the constituency forward.
