The Mumbai-Pune Expressway is currently experiencing severe congestion due to the significant influx of travellers heading to their hometowns for Ganesh Utsav. This year’s festival has caused unusually high traffic on the expressway, with the lane from Mumbai to Pune being particularly affected.
As thousands of people make their way to their hometowns for the festival, the expressway has become heavily congested, resulting in major delays. The heavy volume of vehicles is causing a bottleneck, with many commuters finding themselves stuck in long queues that stretch for miles.

Borghat Police are actively working to alleviate the congestion by implementing traffic management measures. They are directing traffic in both directions on the expressway, but despite their efforts, the gridlock persists. The long queues have caused considerable distress among travellers, many of whom have been caught in the traffic jam for hours. Those who began their journeys early in the morning are still stuck in the massive traffic jam well into the afternoon.
Authorities are urging travellers to plan their journeys carefully and consider alternative routes if possible. They are also advising drivers to remain patient and follow traffic rules to ensure safety amidst the heavy congestion.
