High Voltage Drama: Wanted Criminal Threatens to Jump Off Fifth Floor, Livestreams Standoff Before Arrest and Rescue

In a high-tension drama that unfolded in Ahmedabad, a wanted criminal attempted a daring escape by climbing onto a fifth-floor ledge and threatening to jump rather than surrender to police. Identified as Abhishek alias ‘Shooter’, the accused even livestreamed the entire episode on social media, defiantly declaring, “It’s better that I die than surrender to you.”
The Ahmedabad Crime Branch, acting on a tip-off, traced Abhishek to Flat 505, X Wing, Shivam Awas in the city’s eastern sector. When officers arrived and knocked on the door, he refused to open it. Instead, he tried to flee via the bathroom window, clambering onto a narrow ledge five stories above the ground, prompting panic among onlookers and officials.
As the situation escalated, emergency services and the fire brigade were rushed to the spot. Safety nets were set up as police tried to reason with the suspect, who continued broadcasting the incident live, expressing distrust in law enforcement and insisting he would not be treated fairly if arrested.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajit Rajiyan later confirmed that Abhishek, whose full name is Sanjaybh Singh Tomar was a long-time absconder wanted in several criminal cases across multiple police stations in the city. “He had been evading arrest for quite some time, and multiple teams were tracking him,” Rajiyan said.
After three hours of intense negotiation, firefighters finally rescued Abhishek and handed him over to the police. He was immediately taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further criminal links and activities.
The incident, which combined real-time social media drama with the risk of a fatal fall, highlights the increasing complexity of modern law enforcement operations where criminals are using digital platforms even during high-risk standoffs.
