Even today, audiences eagerly await the online release of a movie as soon as it hits theaters. It’s not uncommon for films that fail commercially to gain unexpected popularity on OTT platforms, where viewers often embrace them enthusiastically. Social media buzz around such films usually grows after they become available online, sometimes giving them a second wind.

Recently, a Hindi film directed by renowned Marathi filmmaker Samir Vidwans premiered in cinemas. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles, the movie Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri was released in December 2025. Despite its star-studded cast and high expectations, the film did not perform well at the box office, failing to meet the producers’ projected returns. The movie was produced by Karan Johar.

Now, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri has started trending on OTT platforms. Viewers are enjoying its story and soundtrack, which have received positive feedback online. Though the film had a significant budget, its limited marketing is being cited as a reason for its underwhelming theatrical run. A few days ago, the movie premiered on Amazon Prime Video, and its reception has since shifted dramatically. Audiences who missed it in theaters are now watching and appreciating the film.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the film earned ₹30 crore in India and ₹48.02 crore worldwide. Considering its ₹90 crore budget, the film incurred substantial losses, recouping less than half of its investment. However, OTT platforms are now providing the movie a renewed chance to reach audiences. Currently, it holds the second spot on Amazon Prime Video’s Top 10 chart.

The film is a romantic comedy centered around contemporary relationships. Kartik Aaryan plays Re, a wedding planner, while Ananya Panday portrays Rumi. Initially, there is hesitation and awkwardness between them when they meet, but over time, genuine feelings develop. Re later supports Rumi during a critical moment when her father’s health takes a downturn, showcasing the emotional depth behind their romance.
