As November draws to a close, several important deadlines are approaching for taxpayers, pensioners, and central government employees. Missing these cutoffs could result in penalties, delays, or disruption of essential financial services. From life certificate submission to tax filings and pension scheme choices, November 30, 2025, marks a crucial date for many compliance-related tasks.

1. Life Certificate Submission for Pensioners by November 30

Pensioners must submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC), also known as Jeevan Pramaan, every year to continue receiving uninterrupted pension payments.

Who Needs to Submit?

  • Regular Pensioners: Must submit their life certificate between November 1 and November 30.
  • Senior Pensioners (80+ years): Can submit their certificate early, starting from October 1, 2025.

Timely submission ensures smooth and on-time pension disbursement.

2. UPS Opt-In Deadline Extended to November 30, 2025

Central government employees planning to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) now have more time to make their choice.
The Finance Ministry has extended the last date to November 30, 2025, pushing the earlier cut-off of September 30 by two months.

This extension has been communicated to the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) through an official notification.

What Is UPS?
Under the Unified Pension Scheme:

  • Employee contribution: 10% of basic pay + dearness allowance
  • Government contribution: 18.5%

This differs from the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), where employees made no contribution and received 50% of their last drawn basic pay as pension.

3. Tax Deadlines Approaching on November 30

Several major tax-related submissions also fall due on November 30, 2025:

TDS Compliance

Challan-cum-statements for TDS deducted in October 2025 under the following sections must be filed:

  • Section 194-IA
  • Section 194-IB
  • Section 194M
  • Section 194S

ITR Filing Deadline for Specified Taxpayers

Individuals and businesses required to file a report under Section 92E (international or specified domestic transactions) must submit their Income Tax Return for AY 2025–26 by this date.

International Group Compliance

Entities that are part of an international group must file Form 3CEAA for the 2024–25 accounting year by November 30.

Stay Ahead of the Deadline

With multiple key submissions due this month, taxpayers and pensioners are advised to complete all formalities well before November 30 to avoid last-minute issues. Completing these tasks on time ensures uninterrupted services, compliance with regulations, and peace of mind.
