The wedding of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been indefinitely postponed following a medical emergency involving the cricketer’s father.

According to Smriti’s business manager Tuhin Mishra, her father Srinivas Mandhana suffered a heart attack on Saturday morning while wedding preparations were underway at the Mandhana farmhouse in Samdol, Sangli.

He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Sangli, where he is currently stable and under observation. Family members and Smriti rushed to the hospital as soon as the health scare was reported.

Confirming the developments, Mishra said,

“He felt unwell during breakfast. We initially thought it was normal, but his condition worsened. We called an ambulance and shifted him to the hospital. Smriti is very close to her father and has decided to postpone the wedding until he fully recovers.”

Wedding organisers informed the media that all ceremonies scheduled for the day have been called off, and workers have begun removing decorations from the venue.

The couple had planned to tie the knot on November 23 in the presence of close family members, friends and several members of the Women’s World Cup-winning Indian cricket team. Videos from their vibrant pre-wedding events — including Haldi, Mehendi and a friendly cricket match between the bride and groom’s teams — had gone viral in recent days.

However, family sources have confirmed that all upcoming festivities stand paused indefinitely. The families have requested privacy as they focus on the recovery of Srinivas Mandhana.

The new wedding date will be decided once his health stabilises.
