India Foils Pakistani Drone Attack in Jaisalmer; Explosions Rock Rajasthan Skies
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan – Indian air defence systems successfully intercepted a suspected drone attack from Pakistan late Thursday night over Jaisalmer, triggering loud explosions and bright flashes across the night sky, according to official sources.
Visuals showing multiple drones flying over the region were shared by news agency ANI, capturing the tense moments as air defence units responded swiftly to the aerial intrusion.
The incident unfolded amid heightened cross-border tensions following retaliatory strikes by Indian armed forces on Wednesday. The Indian military had launched precision missile attacks targeting nine terror hubs across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These included key locations linked to terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. The strikes were in direct response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
Around the same time as the Jaisalmer drone incursion, multiple sites in Jammu—including a strategic airstrip—came under artillery fire, drone surveillance, and missile attacks believed to be launched from across the border.
The series of escalating incidents has significantly raised security concerns in border areas, with defence sources confirming that heightened surveillance and readiness protocols are in place along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border.
