An individual of Indian descent in Singapore has quickly risen to millionaire status after winning a staggering US$1 million (more than 8 crore INR) in a lucky draw.

The man won $1 million in a lucky draw after purchasing gold chains for his wife, describing it as a blessing on the anniversary of his father’s passing.

Balasubramanian Chithambaram, a project engineer with 21 years of experience in Singapore, won the grand prize in a lucky draw conducted by Mustafa Jewellery last Sunday, November 24.

The draw, a highlight of the store’s yearly celebration, took place at the Civil Service Club @ Tessensohn. Customers who made purchases of S$250 or more at the jewellery store qualified for the draw. The event was not solely focused on the grand prize. Numerous other customers also left with prizes of $5,000, which they won in the store’s monthly drawings.

“I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news. Today is also my father’s fourth death anniversary. This win feels like a blessing,” says Chithambaram.

The winner said he intends to inform his mother about this joyful news and contribute a portion of his winnings to the Singapore community, showing appreciation for the time he has dedicated to working there.

He also wants to allocate a portion of his winnings towards his children’s future while entrusting the remainder to his wife’s capable management.
