India’s First Vande Metro Renamed As ‘Namo Bharat Rapid Rail,’ Set To Launch On September 16
Ahmedabad – India’s inaugural Vande Metro service has been renamed the ‘Namo Bharat Rapid Rail,’ which will be officially launched on September 16. This service will connect Ahmedabad and Bhuj, making stops at nine stations along the 360-kilometer route. The journey will take approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes, with the train reaching speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the ‘Namo Bharat Rapid Rail,’ which is part of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The Ahmedabad-Bhuj service, Train No. 94801, will depart daily at 5:30 p.m. and arrive in Bhuj at 11:10 p.m. starting September 17. Conversely, Train No. 94802 will leave Bhuj at 5:05 a.m. and reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 a.m. from September 18.
The train will stop at key stations including Sabarmati, Chandiodiya, Viramgam, and Dhrangadhra, among others.
