Budget airline IndiGo has increased the price of its front row seats, which have more legroom, to ₹ 2,000 per passenger.

A window or aisle seat in the front row of an A321 aircraft with 222 seats will set you back ₹ 2,000. The aisle seat in the same row costs ₹ 1,500. All seat types in the second and third row have a flat rate of ₹ 400.

For these seats in an A320 aircraft with 186 seats and an A321 plane with 222 seats, the fees are the same. If these seats are chosen in an A320 aircraft with 180 seats, the same tariff will apply.

The fee for selecting a seat on an ATR aircraft can reach Rs 500.

According to an aviation analyst, the airline has raised the seat selection fee to a maximum of Rs 2,000 for front row seats with additional legroom. Previously, it was up to Rs 1,500.

IndiGo did not immediately announce that the seat selection fee would be increased to a maximum of Rs 2,000.

It was not possible to determine changes in fees for choosing seats in other rows right away.

The airline eliminated the fuel fee that was collected from customers last week; as a result, tickets on some lengthy routes will now cost as little as Rs 1,000 less.

On October 6, 2023, the airline began adding a fuel charge to every domestic and international ticket due to an increase in jet fuel prices. Depending on the distance, the fuel charge could range from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000.
