Major roads linked to the recently constructed Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), Atal Setu, are grappling with critical deficiencies, causing inconvenience for travellers and residents.

In areas like Shivdi Cotton Green Ward No.206, Haji Bandar Road, Fosberry Road, and Mesent Road, heavy traffic congestion is compounded by inadequate street lights, sewerage lines, and stormwater drain management.

Despite an MOU between the Maharashtra State Govt and the Mumbai Port Trust, the infrastructure, controlled by the latter, remains in poor condition, with potholes and insufficient sanitation services.

Sachin Padwal, Former Sewri corporator emphasized the urgent need for fundamental improvements and expressed frustration over the lack of basic amenities.

Mahesh Patil, Assistant Commissioner, F South Ward acknowledged the deficiencies but cited jurisdictional constraints under the Mumbai Port Trust.

MP Arvind Sawant voiced concerns over the Trust’s negligence, urging action on road repairs and provision of essential services.

Calls for accountability and immediate action resonate as residents endure the consequences of neglected infrastructure.
