ISRO Chairman Advocates Temple Modernization with Libraries to Engage Youth

ISRO Chairman S Somanath has suggested an innovative approach to transform temples into societal engagement centers by installing libraries. He believes that such initiatives could attract youth participation and foster societal transformation.

Speaking at an award ceremony held at the Sree Udiyannoor Devi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Mr. Somanath emphasized the need for temples to evolve beyond traditional roles. He urged temple managements to consider setting up libraries within temple premises to attract young individuals.

Expressing his thoughts, Somanath reiterated that temples should not only serve as places for elderly people to engage in religious practices but also as hubs for societal development. He highlighted the importance of attracting young people to these cultural centers and encouraged temple authorities to explore innovative approaches.
