IT Engineer Sachin Siddhe Enters Chinchwad Election Fray to Address Civic Issues
Chinchwad: Sachin Siddhe, an IT engineer with 17 years of experience, has taken a month-long leave from his job at Hinjewadi IT Park to contest as an independent candidate in the Chinchwad assembly constituency. Siddhe, who is also a society chairman, decided to step into politics after witnessing years of unresolved civic issues like water shortages, reliance on tankers, traffic congestion, and crumbling infrastructure in areas such as Punawale, Kiwale, Wakad, Ravet, and Tathawade.
“Despite paying heavy taxes, IT professionals and corporate employees here face basic issues like inadequate water supply and poor roads. Even though this region is a hub for IT and corporate professionals, authorities have failed to act,” Siddhe stated. He criticized the lack of sustainable infrastructure and called for “smart governance” instead of merely focusing on “smart city” initiatives.
Siddhe highlighted that residents buying expensive flats in the area deserve robust infrastructure, not pothole-ridden roads. “If elected representatives don’t address these issues, who will?” he asked, adding that educated youth should step forward to contest elections to hold leaders accountable.
Through his campaign, Siddhe aims to represent the working-class population, urging them to vote for real change instead of opting for NOTA.
