The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) conducted the JEE Advanced for the 2024 session. Students are now awaiting the provisional answer key to gauge their performance and determine if they will secure a spot in their dream college.

**IIT Madras**

Rated as the best Indian institute under the engineering category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Engineering 2024, IIT Madras saw the average salary rise from ₹29.28 lakh in 2018-19 to ₹41.72 lakh per annum in 2021-22. The highest package offered was ₹2.14 crore per annum, with over 80% of BTech and dual degree students and more than 75% of Master’s students placed. **IIT Guwahati**

Ranked seventh in NIRF Engineering 2024, IIT Guwahati’s average salary increased from ₹28 lakh per annum in 2018-19 to ₹41 lakh per annum in 2022-23. With 96.30% of BTech CSE students placed, IIT Guwahati also achieved a global rank of 32 for ‘Research Citations per Faculty’ and an overall rank of 364 in the QS World University Rankings 2024.

**IIT Delhi**

Securing the second position in the NIRF 2023 engineering category, IIT Delhi is a hub for excellence in training, research, and development. The highest summer internship stipend in 2023 was ₹4.04 lakh per month, with an average of ₹2.63 lakh per month. Major recruiters included Google, Accenture, and ICICI Bank.

**IIT Bombay**

Ranked 45th in Engineering and Technology in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, IIT Bombay improved its performance by two places from 2023. The highest package in the December drive was over ₹1 crore, with an average salary rising steadily over the years. Top offers came from both domestic and international locations.

**IIT Kanpur**

Ranked sixth in the research category, IIT Kanpur received 989 offers, including 22 international ones, in the first phase of the 2023-24 placement session. The average salary stands at ₹26.27 lakh per annum. Prominent recruiters included Microsoft, Samsung, and Goldman Sachs.

**IIT Roorkee**

Placed fifth in the NIRF 2023 engineering category and seventh in research, IIT Roorkee secured three international and 358 domestic offers in 2023. Key recruiters were Accenture Japan, American Express, and Samsung R&D Institute, Delhi.

**IIT Kharagpur**

Ranked fifth in India and 59th in Asia by QS Asia World University Ranking 2024, IIT Kharagpur ranked fifth in the NIRF research category and sixth in engineering. The institute saw participation from top companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft in its placement drive. Reforms in UG programmes starting from the 2024-25 academic year align with the National Educational Policy (NEP 2020).
