Pune : With the incidence of fires breaking out in buildings, highways, etc., it is challenging for firefighters to reach all affected areas. Class 10 students of Jnana Prabodhini Prashala came up with a unique design and developed a robot named ‘Elephire’. The students also presented it before Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an exhibition in Delhi, and he even appreciated it.

As per the information provided, the robot is modelled like an elephant trunk. Students Arnab Vadikar, Raj Jain, and Mithilesh Hingmire, Shlok Dalvi, and Yash Kapse have created this robot. Teachers were also present for the initiative.

Pranav Pujari, teacher at Jnana Prabodhini Prashala said, ”Thinking about how firefighters extinguish the fire, risking their lives, they have come up with an innovative robot. It took one year to create this robot, with a development cost of Rs 35,000. It includes strings, a pipe, a motor, and an arm that can be rotated 360 degrees.”

The students created a robot, choosing a bio-mimicry subject. The project won the first prize in the division and was presented at the G20 exhibition. The students presented it before Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an exhibition in Delhi, and he even appreciated it.
